1. About ShortRest

1.1 What We Are

ShortRest is a free online classifieds platform operated by LonerTech Ltd. We provide a space where:

• Property owners can list their short-term rental properties, serviced apartments, and hotel rooms
• Guests can browse and contact property owners directly
• All communication and transactions occur directly between property owners and guests

1.2 What We Are NOT

1.3 Key Terms

• Platform: The ShortRest website and any mobile applications
• Property Owner/Host: Anyone who posts a property listing on ShortRest
• Guest/User: Anyone who browses listings or contacts property owners
• Listing: Any property advertisement posted on ShortRest
• Transaction: Any agreement, booking, or payment between a property owner and guest

2. Using ShortRest

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ShortRest. By using our platform, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

2.2 Account Registration

To post listings, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

2.3 Prohibited Activities

You must NOT:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
• List properties you don't own or have authorization to rent
• Use ShortRest for any illegal activities
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Post spam or unauthorized advertisements
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the platform
• Violate intellectual property rights
• Impersonate others or provide false information

3. Property Listings

3.1 Property Owner Responsibilities

3.2 Content License

By posting a listing, you grant ShortRest a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and promote your listing content on our platform and marketing materials. You confirm that you own or have rights to all content you post.

3.3 Listing Removal

ShortRest reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these terms, appears fraudulent, or receives complaints, without prior notice. We are not obligated to monitor listings but may do so at our discretion.

4. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

4.1 No Verification or Endorsement

ShortRest does NOT verify, endorse, or guarantee:

• The identity, background, or legitimacy of any property owner or guest
• The accuracy of any listing information or photos
• The condition, safety, or quality of any property
• That any property complies with local laws or regulations
• That any booking will be honored or completed

All listings are provided "AS IS" based solely on information provided by property owners. You must conduct your own due diligence before any transaction.

4.2 Not a Party to Transactions

4.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:

Our maximum liability for any claim shall not exceed ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira), regardless of the nature of the claim.

4.4 Your Indemnification Obligation

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LonerTech Ltd., ShortRest, and our officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the platform
• Your listings or content
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
• Any transaction or interaction with other users

5. No Payment Processing

ShortRest is a 100% free platform. We do not charge listing fees, booking fees, or commission. We also DO NOT process, hold, or handle any payments between property owners and guests.

All payment arrangements, security deposits, and financial transactions are made directly between the property owner and guest. ShortRest has no involvement in or responsibility for any financial matters.

6. Reviews and Ratings

Users may post reviews of properties and experiences. Reviews must be honest, factual, and based on actual experiences. ShortRest may remove reviews that are:

• Fake or fraudulent
• Defamatory or abusive
• Violate privacy or contain personal information
• Posted by competitors or for malicious purposes

We are not obligated to verify the accuracy of reviews and are not liable for any review content.

7. Intellectual Property

The ShortRest name, logo, design, and platform content (excluding user listings) are owned by LonerTech Ltd. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without written permission.

8. Termination

ShortRest reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these terms or for any other reason, without prior notice. You may also delete your account at any time.

9. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any legal disputes must be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

You agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally before pursuing legal action.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform announcement at least 30 days before changes take effect. Continued use of ShortRest after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
